Bahri Tanrıkulu, President of the Turkish Taekwondo Federation, met with Dr. Chungwon Choue, President of the World Taekwondo Federation (WT).
Bahri Tanrıkulu, who was in Wuxi, China for the Grand Slam Challenge and WT World Cup Team Championships, met with WT President Choue there. The two decided to implement joint projects in the future, and Tanrıkulu invited Choue to Turkey.

In his statement regarding the meeting, President Tanrıkulu said, “I was proud and happy to meet with WT President Choue. This meeting was an extremely important step for the future of taekwondo, and we had the opportunity to evaluate many exciting projects to take our sport further. Mr. Choue honored both me and the taekwondo community in our country with his appreciation for my athletic career. As a three-time world champion and Olympic medalist, it is a great honor for me to carry out this sacred duty today as the President of the Turkish Taekwondo Federation. His commitment to support Turkey’s innovative and strong steps in taekwondo during our meeting was an important source of motivation for us.”
COOPERATION FOR JOINT PROJECTS
Tanrıkulu stated that they reached a consensus on joint projects, saying, “During our meeting, we decided to implement major projects between the two federations that will make an impact on an international scale. These projects, which we will carry out together with the World Taekwondo Federation, will contribute to our sport becoming more recognized and loved both in Turkey and worldwide. Mr. Choue’s promise of support for these collaborations gives us the courage to set even bigger goals.”
INVITATION TO TURKEY…
Emphasizing that they have invited WT President Choue to Turkey, Tanrıkulu said, “As Turkey, we are eager to host the legendary names of taekwondo in our country and inspire our young athletes. I believe that during Mr. Dr. Choue’s visit to Turkey, he will meet with our young athletes and help us make our planned projects more concrete. As the Turkish Taekwondo Federation, we will continue to work with all our might to increase the power of taekwondo in the international arena and to bring our sport to new generations. We firmly believe that this meaningful meeting will be a turning point for the further advancement of Turkish taekwondo.”
