“WE SHOWED THE POWER OF TURKISH TAEKWONDO TO THE WORLD”

Bahri Tanrıkulu, President of the Turkish Taekwondo Federation, stated that they have left behind a wonderful year for Turkish taekwondo. President Tanrıkulu said, “2025 was literally perfect for us. We experienced and delivered unforgettable achievements. 2025 became the golden year of taekwondo.”

Making an evaluation of the year 2025, Tanrıkulu underlined that they achieved the best results in history, expressing: “We made history at the World Championships held in China. By leaving behind many dominant countries in taekwondo, primarily South Korea, we became the world champions as a team. We showed the power of Turkish taekwondo to the world.” Emphasizing that the successes continued throughout the year, Tanrıkulu said, “We wrote a different success story in almost every month of 2025. Our athletes in all age categories successfully represented our crescent and star flag in the championships they attended. We made the world listen to our National Anthem many times across the globe. There is nothing I could be more proud of than this.”

Regarding the achievements, Tanrıkulu stated: “This year, we established criteria for determining all national team rosters and announced them in advance. Our goal was to compete by forming the best teams, and we see that we have succeeded in this. I would like to wholeheartedly thank our athletes who broke a sweat for all these achievements, our technical teams who prepared them, and the clubs, coaches, and families who played a major role in our athletes reaching this level. Success would not have come without this unity. On behalf of our community, I would like to express my gratitude to all the officials who supported us, especially our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and our Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak, for providing us with the best possible opportunities.”
